Have you ever wondered what all has to happen in order for you to bring home that perfect Christmas tree every year??
Where does it actually come from?
How does it get planted?
Who takes care of it?
How long does it take to grow?
How does it get its shape?
What happens if it gets too tall to be a Christmas tree?!?
Join retired Arborists Michael Roosendaal (Farmer Mike) as he explains the entire life journey of a Christmas tree here at Ohop Ridge.
What is included with each ticket:
- an Ohop Adventurer t-shirt
- a small lunch
- tractor rides
- 1 1/2 hours of learning, playing and planting at the farm
- a potted seedling to take home to plant
- a certificate to name your seedling
What to expect:
- check in at the gate and each child will receive their t-shirt and lunch bag
- take a tractor ride up to the Christmas trees
- a lesson on how to plant seedlings, the process of caring for the trees, the life cycle of a tree, fun facts, interesting facts, questions & more!! All lead by Farmer Mike
- a lesson on how to pot a seedling - each child will get to plant their own in a pot to take home
- a lesson on how to plant your potted tree in the ground once you find a spot for it at home
- tractor ride back down
- saying goodbye
Gates open at 9:30 AM. Tickets must be bought in advance, no day of entry permitted. One parent must stay with each child (unless siblings) for the entire 1 1/2 hours (it’s going to be so much fun!!). Each child participating must have their own ticket purchased.
**There will be loud machinery and heavy equipment in use. Gloves and ear plugs are suggested but not required.**
